Friends Milestone's touch screen stopped working all together. Responds to nothing. Even factory reset didn't help.

After the reset it says "Touch the android to begin" and the screen is unresponsive, which essentially makes the phone a very expensive paper weight.

Anyone know/heard of similar a thing happening?
Seems to be a case of faulty hardware...

hey i have the exactment same problem.. :( yesterday my touch screen stopped responding. i did hard reset of the phone , screen is still dead.. looking on internet for the solution...i dunno if its hardware fault or software.. just bought it on ebay couple of weeks ago.. was working fine .. :'(
somebody please post the solution to it..............

My friends solution was sending it to be repaired. I guess after the repairs took some time, he demanded and got a new one from the store he bought it from.
