Planning to spend a week or so in Florence (Firenze), Italy in mid-May 2009, but the flights from Helsinki to Florence are somewhat expensive. Train to Florence either from Münich or Rome is under consideration, but the ticket reservation options and cost are somewhat unclear. Experiences anyone?
Nice B&B or apartementos style accommodation tips in the central Florence area also appreciated.
Decided to fly to Milan and take a train from there to Florence and back. Lots of different train options seem to be available from a local train of less than 18€ to Alta Velocità Eurostar high-speed train of 44€ per direction.
