I should think I'm not the only person in Qaiku interested in some or all sorts of languages and/or related issues. Such as ->

How a language effects a persons perception of the world, and how a language guides logic and how we think.

I find it very interesting that each language is actually a different way of thinking ad seeing the world, as is each dialect too. For example in Eastern Finlands dialect all communication tends to be storytelling, no matter what you are trying to say. In Southern Finland people tend to be more straighforward. It even shows in the words used. And now as I have studied a bit of japanese I am stunned by how different the language is. For example used numerals depend on the shape of the things counted.

Language is the key to any culture, if you want to understand it deeply. What is said, how it is said and expressed and even more importantly, what is left unsaid or is even a tabu.
