Collaboration takes energy. Hierarchy is easy way to handle this...

Thus, we have islands in large scale networks, but direct contacts are chaging these, as it's allowed by new tools.

Mental, cultural changes also. Identity crises may become due to changes in our society (e.g. social scientists coding stuff for engineers...)
