White House Slaps Tariffs on Chinese-Made Tires, according to http://www.washingtonpost.com. In one its first major decisions on trade policy, the Obama administration imposes a levy of 35 percent on Chinese-made tires, less than the 55 percent recommended by a federal trade panel. How about Finnish tires made in Russia?

The decision is intended to bolster the ailing U.S. tire industry, in which more than 5,000 jobs have been lost over the past five years as the volume of Chinese tires in the market has tripled.
