Is Open Innovation Rocket Science or down to earth problem solving? How would you define Enterprise 2.0?

The combination of open innovation and traditional business management works occasionally as water and fire. The culltural gap is big and it takes time and persistence to make the old and new to work together. Social enginering and service design can be used as tools.

There is another space on earth where the economy is still booming like in the old days. I got this article about China for my interpretation today. Should we be alarmed about the development?

It might be natural for us to compete with low value bulk manufacturers (forest n steel) and raw materials (mining) but hopefully future is somewhere else. imho we should be worried about california.

@jounikj It's easy to agree with you. The Nokia versus Apple battle is a fresh example of that. What's your opinion, who is going to take a beating?

“I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I really understand.” Confucius 400BC. What did I hear about Open Innovation and what did I learn? How about implementing openness to my every day life? How open is my attitude? How much of my daily stuff is still ditched into silos, hard-drives and server bellies where nobody ever will see or mind about it? The only value of closeness could be to decrease information overflow. That's why the quality of Open Stuff needs to be considered. Is it inspirational? Is there a message? Does it have a meaning? Does microblogging deliver microscopic ideas? Or is there a less is more quality in micro-openness?

Open heart -> open mind-> open society->open innovation

The philosophy of openness is getting a framework. There is a funny historical parallel in the meaning of Stasi files. DDR had huge archives about ordinary citizens every day life: their parents, work, friends, travel, sex-life, what books they read and what radio channels they listened. Did they build the first prototype of Open Society? And Big Brother programs with cameras in every room is the second generation. Orwellian society is becoming a real possibility when we really start to document our life. But is there a real danger of openness? I could list thousands of reasons, but honestly, I walk the streets, visit public places without fear. There is something in openness that scares us. Who starts the list of top 50 fears?

@hyvaelama @jounikj Take a look at VisionSummit at Twitter. There are active international contacts for our open mission. Take a look at the home page of Vision Summit. The event takes place in Berlin. VISION SUMMIT on November 8, 2009 in Berlin: A Strong Message Going Around the World: “ANOTHER WALL TO FALL”

  • Muhammad Yunus, the Nobel Prize Winner is speaking today

On November 9, the fall of the Berlin wall celebrates its 20th anniversary. This year’s focus will not be backward however, but towards the future: ANOTHER WALL TO FALL – this idea brings many thinkers from all around the world to Berlin. At the VISION SUMMIT, they want to carry one question into the world:

Domino project

Which wall needs to fall next? Answer: The wall of poverty and the wall of ecosystem destruction, especially through climate change.

How: With a new understanding of the relationship between economy and the solution of social problems, in short SOCIAL BUSINESS. This message is at the heart of this year’s VISION SUMMIT: “SOCIAL BUSINESS – ANOTHER WALL TO FALL.”

In addition to Muhammad Yunus, many other Nobel peace prize winners, international thought leaders and decision makers from industry, politics and civil society as well as many dedicated individuals and social entrepreneurs will gather to spark an impulse that will change the world no less than the first fall of the Berlin wall.
