I have few ideas on how to use qaiku API, but since I'm not a programmer I'm not quite sure what is possibel and what not?

APIs in general are meant for programmers to use :-) But yeah, if you have specific use cases in mind, let us know and we can tell how it works with the API

Ok... the basic idea is that I would like to "hang" ripustaa Qaiku threads in other sites (that I host). Basicly I would replace the what-so-ever discussion, photo commenting etc. function in that site with Qaiku. Then the comments and comments of comments would appear in the site for those random people that visit the site and here in Qaiku for the followers of people that participate in commenting.

It would be evolution of the qaiku channels, so that instead of having my favourite topic as a channel in qaiku, I could host a complete site of the topic and have the qaiku discussion fully integrated there.

  • Some similarities with twitpic http://twitpic.com/gy7c1 but with the advantage of Qaikus enabling discussions.
  • Other case in my mind would be the finnish open data catalog where people could post their knowledge of open (public) data resources and comment on each others posts. see. http://www.opengov.se/sidor/english/
  • At Fillarikanava we copied the Jaiku/Qaiku format of first 140 character micropost followed by longer comments. It would be pretty cool to actually not only copy the format, but use the Qaiku instead. http://fillarikanava.hel.fi/r/280/
  • As the practice of "liverapo" is getting mature it would be cool to use Qaiku as the official back channel in conferences etc. so that the site where possibly video feed (Floobs), conference info etc. are hosted there would be pre-started Qaiku thread next to the video. See. http://webcast.digital-one.fi/seminaa...
  • Qaiku could be a channel for annotating interestin videos if it would be tied to timestamp of the video. See http://www.qaiku.com/home/touqo/show/...
