@BUGabundo, thanks for all the input, it's really appreciated!
I think as we are now in somekind of pre/beta mode, we'll concentrate on building features and fixing bugs, but somekind of blog or such follows possible later on. At of course, one can always check @bergie's blog :)
We'll put the other things you brought up into consideration as well!
@BUGabundo some stuff will be open source, contributed to the Midgard project, but that will happen case by case.
You shouldn't try to see sarcasm in places where it doesn't exist :) We really appreciate all the feedback and request we get: that's how we'll be able to make this place better.
Of course we can't and probably even shouldn't actualize even if we could every single one of the request made here, but we do implement all of them that make sense (in our heads, that is :).
@BUGabundo: IMO there's one really good feature: the list of discussion participants, which was sitting under the textarea, and the ability to click on the usernames and have them show in the comment editing box. I've been meaning to suggest this. :)
If I recall correctly, autorefresh is on the "will be considered" list. There's been some talk about permalinks, but I'm not sure what was the result.
Otherwise, the copypasta is a bit stale. Some of it is implemented already, some are bad hacks, some not terribly useful.
I, for one, was fond of my Jaiku subdomain. To me it was a part of the user inferface, making it easy to to summon Jaiku from the browsing history. But vital it is not.
I wouldn't go to the "any domain" route. It seems more trouble than it's worth, really. AFAIK Wordpress.com and Livejournal are offering this for a fee.
@BUGabundo (and @bubu1uk) OpenID is a patch work solution that doesn't really solve any major problems, plus that it's not hardware based will still force people to have more than OpenID when they want to handle their logins. (I would not trust using OpenID when doing my bank errands, for example, it doesn't have offline support etc etc.)
And yes, pardon the rant - again lol ;)
@mandri subdomains is a great thing, the best is the chi.mp solution though - their own TLD?! ;) .quack ;) Speaking of that, http://hypocrisy.mp :)
@hypocrisy, chi.mp domain stuff is quite cool. Pretty neat trick to get Northern Marianas Islands TLD in their use. :)
@BUGabundo, it's been completely clear from the first comment on the subject.
