Another idea:

What if #foo -mentions would pass into the channel? Or if channel doesn't exist it would give a channel-like list with "creat a channel here!"-button.

Would be more compatible with Twitter then.

Yes, they are kinda hidden behind that tab. And baybe some sort of indicator to show if it is just a mention or actual channel-post. Anyway, most important thing would be possibility to use tags. And why not to combine tags and channels... they are all for the same purpose anyway.

@lindstorm, @Ile, @simison, tags are on the dev list, but cannot unfortunately give you any time estimates atm. What's the exact behaviour is not decided yet either, so feel free to contiune on throwing your wildest ideas here =)

I would like to see tags in separate field, not in content. Just on more tab under this text area...

Ajax based autofill would be cool. Tags itself would be links to search other posts with same tags...
