It is pretty far from the traditional GNU/Linux userland. It is a great example of how you can take Linux kernel and make it perfectly incompatible with the rest of the distributions.

If you want Linux as the kernel of choice in everything, sure. However the look, feel and usability do not come in the package. Okay, there is a chance for good mashups.

Can't agree. If you look at Android from the end used view, there is no Linux. It's Google Android. So why on earth would they change? It's just about driving eyeballs to Google ads.

Not sure. After all, I think it's impossible to decide how it will be, without having the chance to see even an alpha release. And even in the worst case, it will be released under an open source license. Will windows ever be?
