Took the old mysql db to the new server. Will create a separate db there for the old "bugs" and do a bunch of selects to see which records were created while the DNS migration was taking place. If I manage to identify the proper diff then adding those records to the new db should be easy.

The cronjob that copied the old DB to the new server has not been switched off after the server's swapped. We might get lucky if the ISP could restore backups of the new DB. With some data mining we could restore the lost data, although I am not sure how much work that will be. Investigation is closed for now.
