Which means no QT4 bindings for a moment.

The project is still in pre-alpha stage, but many things like ref-counting, signals, casting, subclassing are already working. ...so crashes are not entirely unexpected :-)

Hopefully the author will be able to fix this.

@piotras did any progress ever happen with this one?

@bergie I didn't get any answer. And didn't check if anything has changed in their repository.

@piotras would be great if you can check the situation at some point. I'd love to be able to use Midgard via GIR in QML apps

Of course, one way to work around this is to separate your app and the UI and use D-Bus in between. This way the actual application logic could be written in Vala. http://minimoesfuerzo.org/2010/03/30/playing-qml-a...

@bergie no one has been working on this for a year

@piotras @W_I could we bypass this issue by providing Midgard API through D-Bus?

Probably we could. With Ratatoskr, it's bit tricky, as DBus path is implicitly generated to avoid multiple connections collisions. Well... with Vala it should be easy to implement own service and pass needed data. For QML, simple client and data to object mappings shoudl be done.

@piotras yes, I was thinking of Midgard3. The MidgardCR+QML combo could provide some very cool apps
