business in China - use the local language. Social networks are a lot more important, haggling culture vs. argument culture. And compromise seeking instead of truth seeking.

Open source philosophy conforms with Tao - stop trying to control and the world will govern itself.

Open Source community is naturally a social network. Tend to the customer, enterprise and developer needs (driven by innovation, business and talent).

I think the point is - with lots of people, not educated in english, low income and strong dependency on relatives, "bush radio" marketing is much more effective than marketing campaigns and selling licenses.

besides, the chinese like to localise oss ideas to work in their environment. a chinese partner company would therefore be of help in entering the market.
