totoroki commented on posted to #seminaarikannu 01.10.2009 (fi)
@troppone was the ratio different in previous years? (I haven't attended MindTrek before.)
touqo commented on posted to #seminaarikannu 01.10.2009 (fi)
Org trends:
- engagement models emerging
- hierarchial to metrics/mesh
- information overflow (how to filter)

@ekurvine that was a nice new feature...seeing how engaged people really are! And when going red, you can ask the person a question to get them engaged.

touqo commented on posted to #seminaarikannu 01.10.2009 (fi)
@touqo open source projects would be a good example of such virtual organizations working almost solely online. Though every now and then it is good for collaboration to have beer together

IT companies OF COURSE use these tool, but the world outside IT changes a lot...
troppone commented on posted to #seminaarikannu 01.10.2009 (fi)
companies are facing anxiety around these issues (companies seem to think that social collaboration means being on FB)
this is not about IT, it's about working more sensibly (not necessarily efficiently)

Q/A starts... missed the first question(s)... something to do with collaboration and increasing complexity.
touqo commented on posted to #seminaarikannu 01.10.2009 (fi)
Now we finally have the tools for collaborating, even in large communities. Also the process creates context for collaboration. Defines the roles etc.

Question for David especially: What's your take of Cisco acquiring some company (which one?). Answer: these buys bring the pieces together.
touqo commented on posted to #seminaarikannu 01.10.2009 (fi)
Q: There is a shift of putting people back in how companies work and create competitive advantage. So how companies which have too structured/strict processes and organizational boundaries cope with this? Answe: change the staff. ;-) Seriously: flatten the organization.
