They are working with two schools in Helsinki - young people are very interested in energy saving. Focused in games: web-based mini games that school classes can play together and compete against each others. Monitors at the school display the current situation (ping @aharju)

People organised themselves in teams and got a shared community space. But in this kind of p2p production cases there is a need for effective coordination. Things doesn't happen by themselves...

This is a most interesting thread from Digital Villages / Ecocity perspective. I underwrite the mentions and all the other points:
It takesa a village and specialists, suppliers, politiciens, villagers and others meeting "in the middle of the village" (coffee shop at market square) to TALK, learn and understand. We need "learning communities" and "better as new life creators" and the hearth, mind, goal, will and action power from people. It's a process of engagement. We need participative working methods and open working models to boost enthusiasm. TALK is cheap, it's the way we act on a continuous basis that leads to change.

@hyvaelama malli oli kai, että raha osoitettiin perinteiselle konsortiolle, joka korvamerkkasi siitä 15k€ parvelle ja se koordinoitiin hankekonsortiossa virallisesti VTT:n kautta

Organizations are tend to be so big that participation is difficult and there are so much freeriders (who was it that says this?) - but this is based on rational theory and "utility maximizers".

@hyvaelama: parven rahan allokoinnista tulee mikroartikkeli Somuksen loppuraporttiin. Ennakkotietona voin paljastaa, että vaikeaa on enkä suosittele samaa mallia ihan sellaisenaan kenellekään toiselle. ;) Mutta meidän kokemuksista voi ottaa opiksi ja jalostaa rahanjakomallia toimivammaksi.

@hyvaelama joo allokointi ei ollut helppoa, mutta mielestäni pienelläkin rahalla saatiin kohtalaisesti aikaiseksi minä sain siitä osani 2009 Apps -skaban järjestelyistä... parasta varmaan oli se, että raha oli henkisesti jo hakemusvaiheessa allokoitu joustavaan toimintaan.

@hyvaelama mitekäs toi rahojen siirto tekesiin auttaa? Tekes on TEMin alainen yksikkö ja niden rahoituskriteereissä suositaan erityisesti yrityksiä ja uuden liiketoiminnan kehittämistä. ViimeaikoinaTekes on rahoittanut vähän kuntiakin, mutta silloinkin olis hyvä olla yrityksiä mukana. Miten 4. sektorin toimijat nähdään TEMissä Tekesissä ja elinkeinopolitiikan totetuttamissa? Onneksi meillä on Sitra ;-)

Ad hoc and minimalistic seems to be the strength of Qaiku. I look forward to more openings where microanalysis and microwork ( #mikroduuni) is used. We can "industrialize" global collaboration with through collaboration of micro-organizations and clusters. Take a look at a new attempt to collect a number of micro-building-blogs into a hyper-local-global community: #digitalvillages Welcome to participate. We're planning to let this community grow into a formal open enterprise with a large number of participants. I don't have a clue how it will happen but the idea is to wake up a "sleeping beuty".

@hyvaelama mulla oli culminatumin roope ritvoksen kanssa hyvää juttelua lounaalla tosta rahoitusinstrumenttien vaikutuksesta. häippäsin sit itse paikalta mutta roope taitaa olla siellä vielä.
näkisin myös, että kestävän toiminnan synnyttämiseksi pitäisi myös tutkia sitä taloutta (economy) jonka noi rahoitetut hankkeet synnyttää ja sitä isompaa taloutta jossa ne operoivat. kun halutaan spin-outata joku projekti tutkimushankkeesta, siinä taloudessa tapahtuu iso transformaatio. taloutta pitäisi johtaa ja suunnitella alusta asti ja ottaa huomioon noi talouden transformaatiot ja niiden vaatimukset projektin toiminnalla mikäli halutaan luoda jotain kestävää. kestävän toiminnan keskeinen haaste on aina sen talouden oleminen kestävällä pohjalla, oli kyseessä järjestöt, julkinen tai yksityinen sektori tai kaikki yhdessä.

@hyvaelama go Tekes go! Maiden hyvinvointia mitataan ja vertaillaan usein BKT-mittarilla. Hyvä elämä on kait muutakin kuin BKTn kasvuun tähtäävää? (Vai mitä sanoo hyvaelama?) Pitäisikö BKT mittarina heittää roskakoriin, kun keskusteluihin alkaa tulla sellaisi käsitteitä kuin downshifting, slow life,..?

People just came and started spontaneously doing things. They used and created social networks. Facebook is the main communication channel.
The idea worked, because it was about promoting a humane way of acting towards others instead of creating an organisation. And they did things that are fun also for locals (no charity).

A lot of things happened without money. Take care of the soil and hope to get some roses and lilies without planning them. People are creative.

- naiset tuntuvat olevan enemmän aktiivisia tälläisissa hankkeissa, miehillä on oppimista välittämisen alueella tapahtuvassa yhteiskehittelyssä
- user driven -ajattelu näkyi tosi hienosti mm. loppukiri ja maahanmuuttaja caseissa yleensä kehityshankeet ovat korkeintaan user involvement-tyyppisiä
- olisi hyvä saada yhteiskunta/valtiotieteilijöitä/oikeustietelijöitä tähän keskusteluun
