challenges in NL include:
* social cohesion (incl. integration)
* freedom of speech (cartoons)
* position of pol. parties (Greenpeace and 2 seat for animal welfare parties mentioned)
* shift of power to EU & (semi)public agencies
* multiactor gov, overlapping responsibilities
* dramademocracy hypes
* decisionmaking in EU
* lack of trust in politicians

Q: "How have you measured that the civil society is good in NL"?
A: Dutch lawmaking is very deliberative, real long discussions, agendas from different groups integrated

Q: where have citizens taken over?
A: esp local level, environmental "care" - giving budget, people planning

Citizenship as status: rights and duties
Citizenship as a social role: identity (plays a role in citizenship)
I would make a difference between citizenship as a role and as an identity... there are similarities in the notions of role and identity, but still it would be conceptually interesting and useful to make a difference between them when thinking about citizenship.

@troppone good reporting - plse keep it coming
could you plse ask about open data and democrazy: Is it possible to model how information and knowledge spillovers may allow other organizations to develop new combinatory innovations which, in turn, may feed additional combinatory innovations, and so on? I think such "chain-reactions" of combinatory innovations could be an important benefit of opening up public data. Could one assess the macro-level benefits of open data by varying the assumptions concerning such spillover effects?

- fed space, has turned to be really difficult
Has open data been able to spawn new business?
- silicon valley, 50 entrepreneurs met, 48-64hrs
Competing with Starbucks? How govs can tap into peoples brainpower like the commercial companies
- government is creating a competitive environment
