I was refering to a very old childrens' tv program where two policemen were searching a cat. They always said "Hello hello hello where is the cat?" Don't remember the name of the program.

These kind of things are found very funny for people said it on Tv, but a non sense for the others. It happened once to a rapper who was reffering to a Spanish TV program in Colombia.

@Armi "the cat is in the moon."

I know, but your opening line and @jams' answer was too tempting. And it was nice to remember that program. It taught Finnish children English back then when tv was black and white.

And if Finnish people has ben taught to speak in English, Why is there so few people posting in the same language I post, in Twitter I've 13kand a half followers ( @thewebtycoon ) in an account and are constantly sending tweets to me, here i post sth in english and after 5 hours is still in the first page of pulse.

With my twitter account just by clicking home like a crazy, each refreshed page is full of different tweets.

@DavidSalo , i'd say it's a matter of the culture in a way and a matter of a user base. As qaiku is very much about conversations it just might be it's just a bit easier for most of the users to go on with long discussions in finnish instead of english, especially because most of the other conversationalists are finns as well.

And what comes to the user base; the active user base outside of the Finland is still a bit thin, but we hope it gets stronger a bit by bit; so nice to see you here :)

@davidsalo The nature of comminication in Qaiku is very different from that of Twitter. For example, this second sentence is out of the question in Twitter, whereas in Qaiku we can go about pondering deeper meanings of things.

Personally I think Twitter works fine for pointing out things and expressing opinions. For clarification and dialogue, Qaiku works way better.

The discussions in English is becoming more popular. If the topics are interesting enough, the Finnish members will surely join the talk.

@saarikko I spend a lot of time with social networks , and at the same Time I work with SEO, Blogging, affiliation, web developing... and this in three different languages. In a post I wrote about Qaiku ( http://the-web-tycoon.com/blog/?p=189... ), I mentioned this of the comments...in other words Qaiku is like a mixture between Twitter and Facebook.

@eholmila: This also hapens in Spain: Many people does not work in English because they do not understand it very well: This is an advantage for me because I'm used with the SEO level of the USA, which is very thougher than the Spanish one. A day I met a Spanish guy who was working in Internet since 1995 (also as SEO) and did not know what the Thrust Rank of Google was.

@DavidSalo Qaiku does have an API, check it out

bergie commented on Helsinki, Finland 17.09.2009 (en)

DavidSalo

@bergieThis API is something you are already fixing, isn't true? I've seen a lot of people commenting errors but I haven't seen what kind of API is.

DavidSalo commented on 17.09.2009 (en)

bergie

@DavidSalo the API (linked also in the footer) works pretty well, though with Basic auth there are some issues so for now APIkey usage is recommended. More about this on #Qaiku-api

@bergie Do you know how to make these facebook APIs which are Games asking to recruit people? I'm too busy, but I want to learn how to create APIs of these.
