@lle I think main issue developers are experiencing with WP7 aren't the toolkit related. Rather than that, they are with relative scarceness of the networking tools available (no sockets, for example, only high level access to http/https protocol), no tools for in-device data storage and bunch of controlling "features" through MS-provided data gateway for all third-party apps.

@lle WP7 development tools are based on Visual Studio (in fact, default "free" toolkit is Visual Studio Express) so developer experience is very good there towards those who are already expecting IDE-like tools or have worked with Visual Studio before. :)
