The first time I used Midgard was in December 2004, when I created a website for my employer: TMV-vision Oy - Media & Music. Back in the days I was known for my hacks on de.linkm.taviewer, which nowadays goes on with name net.nehmer.static. Those were the times: no query builders, no custom MgdSchema objects, yes Aegir, yes AIS.

Probably when I tried to convince the customer that another CMS was better. Not long after that we made exorsist to rip the contents of that proprietary CMS to Midgard... The year was...humhum...2003 or 4?

My first Midgard site was for #Harmaasudet. We converted from the earlier SusiSGML system to Midgard sometime in '98 with this guy as we wanted more dynamic functionality.

In '99 we also built the site for our employer with Midgard (publishing static pages via wget), and since it was already in use on two sites decided to launch it.

Stuff like MidCOM came into picture quite a bit later...

@nicokaiser on Twitter: I used Midgard first in 1999 for constructing a large newspaper website (which still runs! With quite the same software! Amazing...)

My first idea was a women portal that my wifa was about to run with her friends in 1998. That idea fallen but in 1999 I built my first 'Mad King' powered site at http://www.mtp.pl/. Since then I built many Migdard site and I am proud of it :)

Mad King, about 1999. Midgard has been an excellent tool to create tree structures then.

I've seen and updated the #Harmaasudet site. If I remember correctly, I've also build a site or two on the same Midgard installation (for Aavepyörä perhaps). This was probably in 2000-2001. At that point I was mostly copying code that @Bergie had written.

I've also worked on #Harmaasudet site since the beginnings, plenty of free-time side projects along the years use Midgard (as long as it's been my call, it always isn't).

I have started using Midgard in 1999 for my personal Website Nathan Syntronics. I sort of stumbled upon Midgard by pure luck.

As things go sometimes, I got into the core development team and started the Midgard Components initiative. MidCOM is powering many Midgard Websites until today, even though I have left the project in summer 2006 when I changed employment.

I wish Midgard all the best things for its future!

My first proper touch with Midgard was a deploymental one in 2001 with the employer at the time, Oplayo. They have since dropped that after several reorganizations:-(

My first site was http://www.nu.no in 2000. I was looking for a CMS and Midgard fit perfectly with how I thought I would develop the site.

I was very green at the time and Midgards simple API made it easy to get started. I still miss the &(object.property); syntax when I work on other projects.

My least fond memory is from when I was doing an upgrade and didn't know that MySQL db's might get corrupt. It took me 2 weeks to understand that I had to run myisamchk to get the tables working properly. Pain o pain.

Anyhow the Midgard community has always been very helpfull and friendly. A toast to the next 10 years!
