where did you work again? I think it's mostly stupid to tell the users what comps they can use or not use; of course it's a bit more understandable if the company is paying for the computer, but in some places you can't use even your own mac to do the work.

(and yes, i kind of understand the point from the data administration's point of view, but i still think it shouldn't be so hard)
