@dsample, not an easy one i guess. Personally i would (and did) go with the #n900, but that's of course a matter of opinion. For example @lindstorm wasn't so keen on n900 because of the battery life and such and went with the android as did @shrike went with the motorola milestone. And if i don't remember wrong, shrike really likes that phone. And again on the other hand there are really many of us on qaiku who really like the n900 (@bergie, @tepheikk, me and so on).

here is bergie's take on maemo vs android and iphone platform wise: http://www.qaiku.com/go/5td8/

Of course the oldest advice is that there's always something a bit better around corner so best to get something that fulfills one's needs right now. For me it was n900 and it has evolved quite nicely: one major and 2 minor platform upgrades in three months and the next major should be due in couple of weeks (if you believe the rumors). What comes to meego and maemo 6, as far i do understand, they all will run on qt, so even if we wouldn't get all the newest stuff from those to n900, most of the apps would work through all of them.

Yes, I really like Milestone, a lot.
There have been some minor issued due to it not having an official status in finland, but that has not been a problem for me (being a techie sort of person).

I wrote my take on the same-ish issue in my blog some time ago briefly, titled Motorola Milestone, Nokia N900, Apple iPhone, which can be found here: http://timetombs.net/tomblog/index.ph...

I really, really, did not like N900, mostly because of me getting used to Milestone and my overall dislike with Nokia's approach to UI-design and user experience. And it was a very clunky device.

My device was used in a write-up at a finnish tech magazine MikroPC, which compared several other high-end phones and Milestone was tied with iPhone. N900 was third I think.
