Seems Microsoft is also following the closed path with application distribution. Hoping Nokia/MeeGo will keep things a bit more open.

@mcastel I admit that an iPhone/Pad application of Qaiku would be nice. However, considering that iPad is basically an internet tablet designed for couch web-surfing, why wouldn't one just use normal web Qaiku?

@vosaxalo that looks interesting, as does the JooJoo. Apple is doing great work in legitimizing the tablet computing space, spurring responses like the Nokia-Intel MeeGo alliance.

I can't help but to be fascinated by the combination of great, innovative new user experiences and a closed Stalinist ecosystem that the iPad embodies. Is total control the only way to achieve usability, or just a temporary measure to build something groundbreaking that can later be liberalized?

Yep, I was. There is one minor clitch. In fact this is one of the things that I should discuss with @bergie. Currently commandline cron-scripts require still some "tweaking". Some nice and official way should be decided.
