Nyt tulee sotkua kun Twitterin ja Qaikun syntaksien logiikat eivät osu yksiin.

Oi, say what? I googled translated your comment (as I don't know finnish) and I wonder: What is not logical, according to you? The hash-tags?

Cheers!

@hypocrisy Hmm. @erkka had for some reason a wrong language setting, but basically his comments were on hashtags.

He said that there's going to be a mess when the hashtag logic here differs from the one twitter's using. As you can see, only #movies of your hashtag is active, for it's the only (?) channel that has been already created.
Hashtags in Qaiku work as channels: you can join your messages to a channel in two ways: either start your quack with a channelname, like: #movies Hey Lars, leave Taxi Driver alone! - or, go first to the channel ( http://www.qaiku.com/channels/show/mo... ), and post your message from the message window here.

If you use hashtag elsewhere in the message, it just creates a hyperlink to that channel.

So yes, the meaning of hashtag (and the way to use it) differs from Twitter's way.

@lindstorm I see (re language setting), I have done the same mistake I guess - so that's alright.

However, regarding the hash-tags and the IRC:ish channel setup: As I am not a member of said channel #movies: An update should not be sent there. Afaik (aka can remember) this was the setting on jaiku.

And the channel tags are relevant, however I can see both your point as well as cross-posting taking place. Even if I can't see the damage of a link to the channels personally.

In either case: Thanks for explaining what @erkka meant.

..and in essence: Starting messages with #name will create a post there, having #name after any text will create links there?

Cheers!

You're right in your essence, but as you already noticed: hashtags will only be created of words, that have a channel (which are not formed automatically).

Anyhoo, welcome to Qaiku - the thing Google's Buzz is now giving it's best effort to copy ;)
