Pietu Pohjalainen (University of Helsinki) presents QML3D for the Web. QML is a markup language for QT to design the user interface for an application. QML3D actually ports QML to Processing.js that has an experimental support for 3D.

X3D seems to be a very promising approach to (declaratively) present 3D scenes in a browser environment. Many default 3D native functionalities are implemented so, for example, you can walk around rooms and fly over the scenes.

WebGL Seminar @ TUT is held in Tampere University of Technology during spring 2011. (I am just visiting the seminar so do not count on me on reporting the future events!) Today, Jaakko Salonen (Hypermedia Laboratory at TUT) is presenting X3DOM.

I haven't read Prahalad, @troppone, not yet. I am not sure whether the approach is more academic or business-oriented. Let's find out.
