I wonder if I would get more out of it on a second watching but I don't think I'll be doing that anytime soon.

(I found it on discount box, wouldn't even have got it otherwise, good thing it was on Blu-Ray, because the movie basically rests on huge establishing shots of scenery so it needs high-quality output)

@rambo I don't remember seeing that many people walk out of cinema elsewhere than with Valhalla Rising

To be fair on the poster it looks like a gory viking action -movie, expecting that and getting a slow, weird art-house movie will probably be a major let-down.

Actually, Human Centipede may have matched it :-P

Heh, I myself was waiting for something totally different, and wasn't really too happy with what i got (after a long week i was in desperate need of true brain numbing action movie and all i got was this .. well .. art). One day i have to watch this again and see if i can get some more out of it with a different set of expectations.
